Bio

Dr. Rahul Warmoota is an Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology at Guru Nanak Paramedical College in Dhahan Kaleran, Punjab.

As an educator, he is passionate about demystifying microbiology and mentoring students. He enjoys helping them build skills for scientific research and practical lab work.

Dr. Rahul Warmoota holds a PhD in Microbiology from Panjab University in Chandigarh, for which he received a fellowship from November 2016 to April 2025. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Master of Science in Microbiology at the same, from 2011 to 2016.

His academic and research interests include bacteriology, infectious disease diagnostics and antimicrobial resistance. He has published multiple scholarly articles in the wider field of microbiology. In 2024, he was granted a patent by the Government of India for an enzymatic fabric bleaching technology which he invented.

In 2019, he was awarded a travel grant by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) in India to present his research at the 69th Annual Conference of the Canadian Society of Microbiologists, held at Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada. He shared on the topic of biotherapeutic oligosaccharides, while also gaining knowledge from peers.

Prior to joining Guru Nanak Paramedical College, he served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Paramedical Sciences at Ram Devi Jindal College of Professional Institutions in Derabassi, from July 2024 to May 2025. In this position, he sat on a committee dedicated to curriculum design, course development and program enhancement.

He was a Guest Faculty Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Lab Sciences at Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) College in Chandigarh, from July 2022 to May 2024.

From his roles as Assistant Professor, he holds experience preparing and delivering lectures, hosting discussion groups and supervising laboratory sessions for undergraduate students. He has taught human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, haematology and microbiology. He has supervised the work of undergraduate students in the programs of operation theatre technology (OTT) and medical laboratory science (MLS).
