Program description

The Master of Science in Radiology and Imaging Technology (MSc RIT) program advances the knowledge of 4-year degree holders by taking a deeper dive into medical imaging. Upon completion, graduates will be eligible for research and faculty positions in colleges and universities. They may also seek related management positions in clinical settings.
In this postgraduate allied health program, a stronger emphasis is placed on the background science driving modern MRIs, CT Scans, X-rays & Ultrasonography. The human body is also explored in detail, providing the basis for which these devices can be used in diagnostics, as well as in the treatment of disease. Various, advanced methods of image production are explored, to cover more case-scenarios and application possibilities.
Workplace readiness is also taught with topics such as radioactive material handling and patient care.
Evaluation is split between theory-based examinations, assignments and practical experience (requiring attendance). Students learn in classrooms and labs. In the last semester, students participate in an internship, as well as dissertation research. Research results are presented to a panel of faculty members.
